Dear Ryerson Community,

Although camp season hasn’t officially opened we know that the current COVID-19 pandemic is on everyone's minds, along with any plans over the next weeks and months. We want all of you in the broader Ryerson Camp Community to know that the Ryerson Camp directors, staff, and committee are committed to praying for the health and safety of our Ryerson families, as well as, frontline workers, government officials, and especially the vulnerable people in our communities. Most importantly we want to reassure you that Ryerson Camp puts the health and well being of our campers first. We are planning and preparing to run camp this summer, and will be watching and following the advice of medical professionals, the government and our camping association as they are put forth. As of right now, we are planning to run camp as usual and invite people to still register as usual. Having said that, if collective government and medical wisdom dictates otherwise, we will be able to cancel and refund or give credit for any registrations. Please join us in prayer and remember to love others as Christ has loved us, knowing that he walks with us in the midst of any crisis.

In the meantime, click on the links provided below to check in on public health updates specific to Halidmand-Norfolk County, the Ontario Camping Association (health & safety standards that Ryerson abides by), and Ontario Public Health. AND click on our registration as camp is still on. If governments close camps for the coming season, FULL REFUNDS will be given!

Check out our FAQs about COVID-19 and Ryerson below. If you have further questions about our response to COVID-19 please contact the camp (director@ryersoncamp.com).

Psalm 46 is a passage about God’s closeness and protection when things seem scary! Here are a few pieces from that passage: "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear… The LORD Almighty is with us… Be still and know that I am God.”

  1. Is camp still happening?

YES! The plan is that camp is running as per usual! Get your registrations in. We are planning and excited!!

  2. What if Ryerson does not run camp in 2020?

You will receive a full refund if your selected camp week is cancelled due to government legislation regarding COVID-19. Please see registration package for other refund details.

   3. Will my child be protected from COVID-19 at camp?

Ryerson is committed to keeping our staff, campers, and families safe. All of our health and safety standards are in line with the Ontario Camping Association guidelines, as well as local Health Unit and Public Health (see link above). These include our policies and procedures for health screening of campers and staff, sanitation, food preparation, equipment, hand washing etc. And we will work closely with the Health Unit, Public Health and our Camping Association to implement any additional measures  and recommendations going forward.
